Catch a Glimpse of the Cayman Brac Parrot

June 06, 2018

Cayman Brac is a nature lovers haven — there are magnificent rocks, rare trees, and incredible bird watching all across the island. One of our favorite little spots on the island is the Cayman Brac Parrot Reserve. Throughout history, parrots have always been synonymous with pirates and the sea, so it's no surprise that the Cayman Brac Parrot has nested and made themselves very comfortable right here in our home.

In 1996, the Trust’s Cayman Brac District Committee opened up the nature trail and parrot reserve for locals and visitors to be able to get a peek at the beautiful birds that inhabit our island in peace. The trail is one long loop that takes 45 minutes to complete. The loop will bring you through trees and plants that are native to island, bluffs, and cliffs that are along the coast, and you will even see and hear the Cayman Brac Parrots. Grab your trekking shoes and get busy on this scenic walk around the island!
